You are invited to spend an evening at the races June 15th to help raise funds for the Veterans Memorial Park of Kentucky. This year's honored guest is Master Sergeant Howard Griffin (RET). Master Sergeant Griffin fought in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, and received Purple Hearts in all three wars.
The Heroes and Horses day at the races begins at 5:00pm at Churchill Downs; Gates open at 4pm, First race is at 5:00pm, and the last race is scheduled at 8:23pm.
Please check in at The Turf Club. Proper attire is required (Business Casual no denim please) and please note that all tickets must be purchased in advance. Please use the following link regarding our Privacy and Refund Policy.

More Information about the Veterans Memorial Park of Kentucky:
Veterans Memorial Park of Kentucky, a 66,000+ square foot dedicated area, will lie adjacent Veterans Memorial Parkway, a named segment of KY 329 in Crestwood, Kentucky. The Park will be built in a 4-school complex. Veterans Memorial Park of Kentucky, Inc., a 501(c)3 organization, will unveil markers each year that will serve to remind us of our veterans, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our American freedoms.
The three types of markers and monuments in the Park will:
Provide historical information about wars/campaigns/military actions where Americans fought and died including large monuments showing etched historical scenes;
Provide historical information about those who were significant in military history (e.g., Windtalkers, Tuskegee Airmen, WAAFs, Rainbow Infantry Division, service animals); and
Include quotes appropriate to the military and veterans.
Veterans Memorial Park of Kentucky has two missions:
Recognize those who served their country, especially those who paid the ultimate price
Educate Park visitors, especially the youth, in military history
With more social history being taught in the education systems, less military history is being taught...and, the history in textbooks are being rewritten. The project will address this situation in a meaningful manner, including DIRECTLY involving youth in the project.
Youth involvement and education is what will make Veterans Memorial Park of Kentucky one of the most unique parks for veterans in America. In addition, senior citizens will provide guided group tours.
